Rotary drum dryer is mainly used to dry the biomass material powders up to 40% moisture content to 15%, which is required to make pellets. A complete drum drying system is composed of two main parts: one is furnace also named heat stove, which is providing heat source for drying the sawdust material; the other is drum dryer, the raw material is fed into the dryer by a screw or belt conveyor, which is rotary in the dryer and dried to 15% moisture content by the hot air from the furnace.
In single pass dryer, wet materials is mixed directly with hot air inside the rotating insulated drum. The wet materials and hot air normally flow ncurrently through the dryer so the hottest gases come in contact with the wettest material. The exhaust gases leaving the dryer may pass thrοugh a cyclone, multi-cyclone, baghouse filter, scrubber, ESP or WESP to remove any fine material entrained in the air. An ID fan is usually placed after the emissions control equipment to reduce erosion of the fan, but may also be placed before the first cyclone to provide the pressure drop through downstream equipment.

Working Principle of Dryer
The dryer is a cylinder with a little slantwise and the rotate speed can be adjusted according to different request. Inside the drum dryer, we can design different layers in order to meet different capacity requirements. The moist raw material is fed into cylinder well-distributed and dispersed after be turn over by shoveling plate. Then the sawdust contacts with the hot air fully, the drying is acierated. Shoveling plate can be selected in order to meet various materials.
